Many of our first time customers have asked how to interpret the Measuring Guide. Each number is critical in determining how your mantel in constructed. The most common question asked is ”could you explain the #4 and #5 dimensions.” The #4 is the opening height of the firebox and the #5 is the opening width of the firebox. From that point you have clearance issues to deal with. MantelCraft only builds mantels that are code compliant. GRANITE SHELVES

If you are an avid viewer of home improvement shows, then you know how they teach the benefits of granite. Granite today is used on floors, counter tops, vanity tops and as a fireplace facing. One place granite has not been seen is on a fireplace mantel shelf. MantelCraft is now offering two SOLID wood shelves, the Washington and the Jefferson, with a granite top. The shelf size currently available is 6″ wide x 60″ long. The granite colors are the same colors we stock for fireplace facing kits. As always all wood species and stain finishes are available.
